We decided to visit The Folly by Nick & Scott for Ben's 30th birthday, as a special treat. It is located in the Jumeirah Madinat which is a lovely location to visit as it has lots of little shops (in its own souk – everything from diamonds to souvenirs), it has a man-made river running through it where you can catch abra boats to restaurants on the other side and plenty of restaurants and bars for you to enjoy.

We'd heard good things about The Folly from friends so wanted to try it out for ourselves.

We arrived and got seated at our table straight away. The table was situated in the most perfect of locations, on the open air terrace with a partial view of the Burj Al Arab. There was also a bar close by where people were coming to just enjoy a drink (as the cocktails looked insane).

The waiter really knew his stuff and guided us through the entire menu (and drinks menu). The quality of the restaurant was extremely high and you felt special just being there.

They have a small menu which they regularly changed and it had a great selection to choose from (whether you eat red meat, fish, vegetarian, vegan etc) there is something for everybody and very carefully selected. There were 10 of us dining and we each ordered separate things and were all absolutely delighted with what we were served.

The wine menu was delightful and the restaurant also accept Entertainer vouchers (from the app) which means you get 2 for 1 on all main courses (bumping the, what would usually be extortionate bill price, down to a more reasonable one).

The food portions were quite small, however we all seemed to feel full afterwards and nobody was complaining about being hungry. The food was to a high quality and some of the best I have tasted in Dubai.

Overall we had a great visit and would visit again on another special occasion.
