Korcula Old Town is a medieval walled city positioned on an oval-shaped swelling of land pointing deep into Peljesac Channel. The city itself is grooved with a succession of narrow streets that branch off the spine of the main street like the fish bone.
The main street runs throughout the town itself stretching from north to south, dividing the Old Town, an ellipse shape, into two equal parts. Rows of side streets that run from seashores on the West as well as on the East side of the town, meet the main street in the top of the small hill where Korcula Old Town’s main square Trg Svetog Marka and Sveti Marko Cathedral is located.
The House of Marco Polo – believed to be house in which Marco Polo, the famous world traveller and writer was born. It’s recently bought by Korcula’s Town Authority which is currently planning to reconstruct and renovate it into a Museum of Marco Polo. At present, just part of the house is opened for visitors to have a look around. Here you can climb narrow stairs and enter to the Loggia that has great views over Korcula Old town’s roofs (see also photo below)

Snorkelling in clear turquoise waters of Korcula island's sea coast is a great way to see underwater wildlife. This kind of activity is very popular and widespread among locals and visitors alike. If you are beginner snorkeler, it is recommended you to stay near the seashore, to avoid passing by sea traffic.
Korčula island has a lot of quiet country lanes and scenic off-road routes that make this island an ideal destination for a holiday or short break that includes cycling or mountain biking as a recreation activity.
Although at the present there are not dedicated cycling routes, the whole Island has very good facilities for cycling with lots of small tracks running into the countryside, among vineyards and olive groves, some of them offering nice views, especially ones running along the coast.
Bicycles can be rented from a number of different agencies throughout the Island and there are a couple of companies that are able to offer guided rides.
