Situated in Khao Lak, the J W Marriott places itself in the midst of outdoor activities such as snorkelling, boat trips, kayaking and many more. The décor is picturesque and you can witness some of the most beautiful sights you have ever seen by walking the grounds at sunset.
The hotel has a 'family' feel and seems to be very child friendly however, if you are vacationing as a couple on a romantic getaway, you can make your own memories in your personal slice of swimming pool from the comfort of your own room.
service
The service at J W Marriott Khao Lak Resort was out of this world.
We arrived slightly earlier than our check-in time but were shown through to our room straight away. The staff were friendly, approachable and made you feel like royalty. We was welcomed with a full tour of the hotel on the way to our hotel room and when we settled in the bell boys with our luggage.
There is also a nurse on site who can help you with any medical needs you may have on your visit.

Fitness
It's hard to try and squeeze your daily fitness routine in when you're constantly on the go however, the fitness centre at the J W Marriott Khao Lak Resort is open 24hrs a day 7 days a week. It has a number of cardiovascular machines, free weights and a wide selection of fitness classes available daily for a surcharge.
Quan Spa
Relax at Quan Spa by enjoying a massage, a signature treatment, Andaman rejuvenation, and much more. Opening hours are Monday to Sunday from 10:00 AM - 09:00 PM and an appointment is required.
swimming pool
The J W Marriott Khao Lak is home to the largest pool in South East Asia, at 2km long there is enough to keep you and your family occupied for the entire day. Take a cruise around the lazy river or enjoy their whirlpool, towels and sun loungers are provided for your comfort and convenience.
Pool hours are Monday to Sunday 07:00AM - 08:00PM.

Modern and stylish guest rooms combine traditional elements unique to Khao Lak with the luxury of a five-star hotel. You can choose the room that suits your needs, from suites to villas, from romantic escapes to family fun.
We opted for a 'Deluxe Lagoon Pool Access' room and upon checked in we realised just how amazing this room was. Not only was it spacious and full of complete luxury (bath robes, toiletries, fully stocked mini-bar etc) but as we had selected the 'pool access' feature, we had our own piece of swimming pool attached to the terrace of our room. I have never seen anything quite like this before and the pool itself was huge (a 2km lagoon pool) - it is actually the largest pool in South East Asia.
The bed was extremely comfortable, with the linen/towels being changed daily if requested. A pillow menu was available and of an evening the rooms were quiet to ensure a good night's sleep. The rooms were kept impeccably clean and the cleaners frequented your rooms when you were out enjoying breakfast or at the pool it was never inconvenient.
The television was large and had a good selection of British/American channels.
The bathroom had a powerful and spacious walk-in shower, a bath tub and a toilet with a reasonably sized dressing area.

Ta-Krai
Ta-Krai serves up an expert combination of sophistication and traditional cuisine to create a warm, inviting Khao Lak dining experience. Enjoy traditional Thai food in a stylish outdoor setting with views of a beach sunset.
This restaurant was relatively busy when we visited and seemed like one of the more popular restaurants of the nine on site. We felt it was a little expensive but the food was to a high standard and drinks were enjoyable. The service was OK however a little slow compared to some of the other restaurants we visited at the J W Marriott Khao Lak Resort.
Sakura
Dine in an authentic Japanese restaurant that takes a contemporary approach to classics like sushi and teriyaki. Sakura is the spot for dinner in Khao Lak with a view overlooking the beautiful lagoon pool.
Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to visit Sakura on our trip so are unable to provide our personal comments.
Olive
Mix it up while in Thailand with a trip to Olive, the modern, Mediterranean-influenced restaurant with stunning views of the sea.

Deli
Get your day started with a trip to the Deli for all your breakfast needs. With quick and delicious grab-and-go items like sandwiches and ice cream make the Deli a perfect spot for an easy lunch or snack.
We found the breakfast options were varied and extensive and were also appropriate for children. There were live cooking stations including fresh smoothies, eggs cooked to your liking, pancakes etc as well as a large selection of local and international fruits and cereals.
The service here was amazing and we were seated instantaneously upon arrival.
Czar Lobby Bar
At Czar Bar you can grab a cocktail in this sleek and modern watering hole overlooking the pool. You can sample some delicious drinks with friends or loved ones while you watch the sun go down on Khao Lak.
Infinity Pool Bar
Float over and pull up an underwater stool at Infinity Pool Bar at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa. You don't even have to dry your hands to enjoy cold drinks and fresh appetizers at this unique pool bar near the beach.
Waterfront
Take in views of the beach with floor-to-ceiling windows at the Waterfront restaurant. Enjoy a breakfast buffet and delicious a la carte dining options. Waterfront is a bright and modern dining experience with dream views of the Adaman Sea.
The menu was appealing and service was exceptional. This restaurant is great for grabbing a bite to eat after you have been to the beach or for an informal early evening dinner.
Aquamarine Pool Bar
You can enjoy cocktails and snacks in the sun or by the pool at our Aquamarine Pool Bar. Take in the sights and sounds as you relax and sip your favourite vacation drink.
Beach Bar
Beach Bar at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa offers unbeatable view of our resort grounds. Surrounded by palm trees, green grass, surf and sand, this beach bar takes relaxation to a whole new level with cold cocktails and delicious quick bites.
