The bar to go to for those seeking to escape the EDM barrage on the beach, is Banana Bar. Banana is spread over multiple levels. Climb to the rooftop, or lounge on cushions on the raised decks around the bar. Solid RnB, reggae and hip-hop sounds and popular with people who like to roll their own cigarettes.

The bar also serves Mexican food and is extremely tasty. It is a great place to meet new friends or just chill out with a smoke.

Banana Bar is without a doubt the only place to be in Phi Phi. We stayed in Phi Phi for 2 nights and visited Banana Bar both nights. The vibe is perfect and it is always busy. You have to walk up a winding flight of stairs to reach the venue, so if you have difficulty walking up flights of stairs (or down if you've had a few drinks) you may want to bear this in mind when you visit. 

After walking up the flight of stairs you reach Banana Bar and it has an upstairs and downstairs area. Upstairs is outside and has high tables and the perfect view of Phi Phi (especially at sunset). Downstairs has a chilled vibe and you are surrounded by wall art, music videos on the TV and floor seating/cushions etc perfect for enjoying a smoke (which you can buy from behind the bar). There is a great atmosphere and a combination of RnB, Hip Hop and Reggae music being played. 

The food was delicious, we ordered the nachos and they were unreal. Drinks were also to a good standard and reasonably priced. 

Toilets were clean and located in the downstairs area. 

Overall the Banana Bar is a must when you're in Phi Phi.
