BANANA POOL BAR
about pool bar
Banana Pool Bar is exactly what it says on the tin, a pool bar/restaurant located in the main town of Pai (near where the main bars and restaurants are located).
It has a large menu and serves mainly Thai cuisine with a fully-stocked bar and table waiter service, it also has a late curfew of around 12pm (so not your usual pool bar).
It is popular with tourists and travellers as the menu options are cheap and absolutely delicious. There is also live entertainment of an evening in the form of a singer or rock band.
our review
The food at Banana Pool Bar was absolutely delicious and there was so much to choose from.
We ordered crab fried rice (which, to be honest, was the best we had ever tasted), spring rolls and a Thai green curry, each dish just as tasty as the previous. The only thing we would advise you to be careful of is the cocktail menu. We ordered a strawberry daiquiri and whilst we hadn't had any other issues ordering this in other Thai restaurants, at Banana Pool Bar their strawberry daiquiris didn't seem to be the same as everybody else's. They looked more like pink candyfloss and tasted like perfume – which is a shame as the food was so delicious. It wasn't a problem though, we ordered a vodka & lemonade and a beer straight after and these seemed to be OK.
It can get quite lively of an evening with visitors staying in the pool up until closing time.
Overall, well worth a visit for a chilled out night on the town.
