about the hotel

Puripai Villa, one of the most luxurious resorts in the town of Pai, Mae Hong Son Province, which offers a private retreat for travellers of all types, from honeymoon couples, family on a vacation, to discerning travellers looking for secluded natural getaway for a private holiday.

The resort is located on a hillside amidst lush garden landscapes with a breath-taking panorama view of Pai’s beautiful mountains, where in most mornings guests wake up to find themselves surrounded by a heavenly sea of fog.

WOW! – The first word we would choose to use when thinking about our stay at Puri Pai, it is potentially the best hotel we have EVER stayed in to date (and that is a bold statement). Filled with pure relaxation, heavenly bliss and sporting a home-away-from-home feel this hotel really has it all.

Located around a 5 min car journey from Pai town (free transfers available at the reception desk), it hosts the most scenic view of the Pai mountains from the comfort of your own room. Peaceful, tranquil, luxurious.

service

The service at the hotel was to a high standard and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, they really went above and beyond to cater to your every need. An example of this was after a late night out on the town (4am) we struggled to find transport home however luckily the hotel provided us with transportation back to Puri Pai (at a small surcharge).

The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. The restaurant waiters were friendly and helpful and the reception desk spoke fluent English.

swimming pool

Whilst swimming in the pool at Puri Pai you have the best view of the Pai mountains, they surround you as you complete your daily lengths and is an ultimate luxury when the weather is on your side. There are around 10-15 sun loungers placed around the pool area and towels are provided.

fitness & spa

Unfortunately the hotel did not have a spa on site however the was one close by just outside the hotel which was to a high standard (you can even book appointments at the reception desk in the hotel).

The fitness room was relatively small but hosted the necessary machines you would need for a quick workout during your break.

dining

There are two restaurants on site at Puri Pai Villas, The Barn (where you can enjoy delicious cocktails during happy hour at 5pm) and Rhino Restaurant located near to reception and where the breakfast buffet is served.

The Barn

The Barn is a relaxed restaurant serving a selection of dishes from burgers and fries to traditional Thai cuisine. They have a full bar and some of the best tasting (and looking) cocktails you will try in Pai. You can dine here in a formal atmosphere with seated tables inside, or you can take a slightly more chilled approach by laying on one of the comfortable sofa beds overlooking the Pai mountains – which really is quite a special experience. Watching the sun set here was amazing and you can catch it gently falling off the face of the earth and into the mountains.

Rhino Restaurant

Rhino Restaurant provides breakfast packages and there is a selection of around 8 different breakfast dishes to choose from (along with a small buffet of croissants, fruits and pastries etc). The breakfast itself is very tasty and probably better than anything you will find close by. This restaurant also has a beautiful view of the Pai mountains and breakfast is served from 7am-10:30am.

rooms

We checked into the Mystic King Room which sported a stunning mountain view with a log fire just a small walk forwards from our door step. The room included a bedroom (with an extremely comfy bed, TV, work desk area etc), a bathroom (spacious, Jacuzzi-type bath tub, walk in shower, his and hers sinks and a full length mirror) and a dressing room (wardrobe space, dressing table, hairdryer, iron etc).

Waking up every day, opening the curtains and being greeted with the beauty of the Pai Mountains was absolute bliss. We had a small decking area at the front of our room which was perfect for enjoying a night cap before bedtime.
